Welcome to Bryophytes of Santa Barbara, an online guide to the mosses, liverworts and hornworts of Santa Barbara County, California.
As of February 2024, I have added individual pages, each with many photos and detailed descriptions for 21/22 liverwort species, 17/130 moss species and 5/5 hornwort species reported for mainland Santa Barbara County (excluding the Channel Islands). Many of these species are found throughout California, some are found across North America, and several are found on other continents. I will be adding pages for additional species in the months to come.
